CONDO: Treasure Hunter

Photos by Janis Nicolay.

Treasure Hunter. One of the most interesting aspects of this condo from The Cross Design‘s Erin Chow and Megan Baker was how they were able to make the downtown Vancouver home look so unique and full of personality when most of the wall space was floor-to-ceiling windows.

The woman of the house was also a collector of intriguing curios, (a born treasure hunter)—one of my favourites is the living room table with a base designed like a creeping tree. You can see the full story in Condo Spring 2016 or read it online and check out all the gorgeous photos from Janis Nicolay at

  • Western Living: Todd Talbot’s Great Experiment

First of all, Love It or List It Vancouver host Todd Talbot is one of my favourite interviews because he’s always packed with hilarious stories (chalk this up to his background in theatre) and the tale of how his family’s master bathroom came in to fruition is a pretty good one. Instead of playing it […]

Senior Editor Stacey McLachlan and I got to travel to Mayne Island and Pender Island for work (girls’ trip!) and check out all these local escapes had to offer. I spent my summers growing up at Queest, a hard-to-get-to cabin village […]

Cereal is my other go-to, but my boyfriend tells me that even though we’ve got almond milk, our cereal isn’t vegan. What animal […]

  • Going Vegan in Vancouver (for a month): Day 1

I love meat, I love dairy, eggs and milk in particular. I’ve never been vegetarian, vegan or ever considered giving up meat because I don’t like a lot of vegetables — I HATE SALAD — and death by malnutrition seemed likely. My boyfriend and I were perusing the documentary section of Netflix and checked out […]
